New Delhi: R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja stood firm to give India handy lead on the third morning. Ashwin scored 72 runs before departing while Jadeja stood with youngster Jayant Yadav to carry the march forward. Ashwin and Jadeja stitched 97 runs stand which could be crucial in the final context of the match.



Jadeja  completed his third half-century in Test cricket and also reached his career-best score eclipsing previous best of 68 against same opposition at Lord's in 2014.



The 27-year-old was delighted to put India in control and grab a half century which was evident in his post fifty celebration. Jadeja swung his bat like a sword in his ‘trademark style’ as he waved the spectators.
