It has been 18 years now that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been serving the nation with his cool cricketing mind. A new era of cricket began when Dhoni donned the Indian jersey. Since then, numerous chapters have been added in the history book of cricket. However, reading Dhoni’s mind still remains as difficult as ever.
In an interview with sports anchor Jatin Sapru, the 37-year-old Indian wicketkeeper-batsmen shared his experience of lifting the third IPL trophy for the Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, he was asked about the reason behind his habit of handing over the trophies to the youngsters and moving aside after any series victory.
Well, Dhoni had the perfect answer for that. In return, MS asked a question and the audience could hold themselves from applauding.
“Don’t you think it’s unfair when play a team sport and the captain goes to receive the trophy?” asked MSD.
Here’s the video:
"It’s an over exposure. You had it, let’s say, for 15 seconds. And after that, you don’t need to be there. Off course we all love the celebration and you want to be a part of it. It’s not like that you have to be with the trophy. That’s why, in a team environment, we try to make it as simple as possible,” added Dhoni.
The interview was aired on July 7 which also marked MS Dhoni’s 38th birthday.
