Ireland’s dream of getting into the semi-finals of the ongoing Women’s World T20 was shattered on Tuesday when they found themselves at the losing end against Pakistan. Powered by skipper Javeria Khan’s unbeaten 52-ball 74, Pakistan posted their highest T20I total ever – 139/6. In return, Ireland eves could only muster 101 in 20 overs at a loss of 9 wickets, losing the game by 39 runs.

The Irish side was left completely heart-broken with the loss. Even captain Laura Delany couldn’t hold her tears and broke down during the post-match press conference while speaking about the humiliating defeat which she termed "so incredibly frustrating."

“If we were professional I wonder what the score would have been out there today to lose the match by 40 runs,” said a dejected Laura Delany.
