The Indian men’s cricket team, head coach Ravi Shastri took to social media to wish the fans on India’s 73rd Independence Day. India captain Virat Kohli urged Indians to work together towards progress of the country and termed the Independence day as “The most iconic day in the history of our country”


After a clean-sweep in the T20I series and clinching the ODI series 2-0, Virat-led India is all set to lock horns with the Windies in the Test series against West Indies, starting from August 22.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Kedar Jadhav, coach Ravi Shastri can be seen extending their wishes in a video posted by BCCI on Twitter. Kedar Jadhav  wished the fans in Marathi.


Virat Kohli took to Twitter and said, "Wishing every Indian a Happy Independence Day. Let's work together towards progress of our country and create the India of our dreams. Jai Hind".


In his tweet, Rohit Sharma urged people to protect animals and marine life.


Test specialist Pujara asked the citizen to take "oath to protect the peace and unity of our nation".
