New Delhi: On Sunday a complete helpless submission, three days later a matured sensible performance – Pakistan lived up to its tag of complete extremes in the ongoing Champions Trophy. After a rather disappointing performance against India, Pakistan stunned No. 1 ranked South Africa and it was a right-arm seamer that actually turned the match in Pakistan’s way.

Hasan Ali returned with staggering figures of 3 for 28 in his 8 over spell, accounting for Du Plessis, Duminy and Parnell.

However, it was the delivery which cleaned up Parnell that has been the talk of the town since then. Ali had his tail up with two wickets behind his back. He then produced a perfect delivery from around the wicket that completely squared up Parnell, knocking his off pole out of the ground. Parnell took the long walk back to the dressing room for duck.

Ali’s terrific spell helped Pakistan restrict South Africa to a below par 219. Later on Pakistan won by 19 runs via D/L method to spice up the race semifinal race.
