While playing for Sydney Thunders in the Women's Big Bash League, Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur took a brilliant catch to dismiss her national team compatriot Smriti Mandhana.
However, the 29-year-old did not celebrate after dismissing Hobart Hurricanes opener Mandhana. Hobart Hurricanes lost the match by six wickets despite Mandhana’s crucial knock in which she scored a quick-fire 29.
After playing an unbeaten 52 and 33 runs knock in the previous matches, Harmanpreet was not able to perform this time with the bat, contributing just 13 runs.
With only one win from their seven matches, Hobart Hurricanes are now at the bottom of the table after loosing this match. Sydney Thunders managed to retain their number one spot with 10 points from five matches.
In the shortest format of the game, Mandhana has played 52 matches; on the other hand, Harmanpreet has played 93 matches and scored 1,886 with the highest score of 103 runs.
