Lahore Qalandars Beat Multan Sultans By 1 Run In PSL 2023 Final

In a superb game of cricket it was the Lahore Qalandars that beat the Multan Sultans by 1 run in the PSL 2023 final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Qalandars had posted 200 runs batting first with Abdullah Shafique top-scoring with 65 off 40 and captain Shaheen Afridi with a blistering cameo worth 44 off 15 balls.

That proved to be just about enough to edge Multan Sultans in the final over by a run. Afridi returned to finish with 4 for 51 with the ball but with the chasing team needing 13 to get off 6 balls, even Zaman Khan's (0/33) composure and performance just couldn't be ignored.

Rauf had an off day with the ball, going for 49 runs in his 4 overs without taking a wicket. In a crucial stage of the match, after Afridi had taken 3 wickets in the 18th over and it looked like Qalandars would seal an easy win, Rauf conceded 22 runs in the penultimate over to allow Multan Sultans a chance to stay in the match till the last ball.

In the end, Khushdil Shah was run out off the last ball as Qalandars won by a run to lift successive PSL titles.
