The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Sunday turned into a battlefield as some of the members indulged in a fistfight.

A video showing the ugly fight among the office-bearers went viral shortly after the conclusion of the AGM. DDCA joint secretary Rajan Manchanda is among those who can be seen in the melee which reportedly arose after the members could not agree on the agenda which was passed unanimously.

As per reports, there were five points in the agenda which was to be discussed, including the appointment of statutory auditors and passing of annual accounts. While the official DDCA release said all proposals were passed with a thumping majority, video clips of the meeting surfaced on social media suggests there was opposition to some of the points.

The association's official response which it tweeted out did not mention the fracas at all.

The scuffle was highly condemned by the former cricketers and DDCA members. Former batsman Gautam Gambhir urged BCCI for dissolution of the DDCA after the AGM fracas.

Former cricketer and 1983 World Cup winner Madan Lal also took to his Twitter account and criticised the act stating, “Delhi cricket in the hands of hooligans.”

Former India cricketer Kirti Azad wrote to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly over the incident.

“The media has been showing the ugly scenes witnessed in DDCA’s AGM today. In light of what has been happening for the last several years, violence was being expected in DDCA premises. The ugly face of DDCA has been visible in DDCA’s AGM today, for which inaction by BCCI is also responsible. Please refer to my several letters to you, after you have assumed charge of BCCI. The crisis in DDCA has been deepening since BCCI has not taken any action to stop the rot,” he wrote.
