The Major League Cricket (MLC) match between the San Francisco Unicorns and Seattle Orcas witnessed a strange run out of Finn Allen which immediately went viral on social media. When Cameron Gannon bowled a delivery to Allen in the fourth over of the San Francisco Unicorns vs Seattle Orcas game, Allen made a defensive push towards mid-on and then took a leisurely stroll. However, fielder Shehan Jayasuriya noticed the predicament, grabbed up the ball fast, and struck the stumps, catching Allen short of his ground. Allen was batting on 29 off just nine deliveries and looked in good form but the run-out left the batsmen in a state of disbelief.

Even Allen appeared astonished after being caught off guard, but it was the epitome of a momentary slip in focus as a professional cricketer.

The Seattle Orcas chose to bat first after winning the toss in this particular game. The fiery opener Quinton de Kock (9) was dismissed within the first two overs, giving them a poor start. Together, Nauman Anwar and Shehan Jayasuriya were able to score 50 runs within the first powerplay, which helped to steady the ship. But just as the first powerplay came to a finish, Anwar's wicket fell (30 in 21 balls with five fours).

While batting in the first innings, Heinrich Klaasen and Jayasuriya built an outstanding partnership that helped the Orcas reach 177/4 in their allotted 20 overs. The disciplined bowling efforts of Carmi le Roux and Marcus Stoinis put the Orcas in a very strong position.  Klassen received the "Player of the Match" award for his exceptional performance.

The San Francisco Unicorns scored 142 runs in response in just 18 overs and struggled to build partnerships. Ultimately the Orcas defeated the Unicorns by 35 runs.
