Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni may have had missed the last game against Mumbai Indians due to sour health. But he made sure that his return should delight his fans who gathered in numbers on Wednesday night at the Chidambaram stadium.

While playing against Delhi Capitals (CSK), Dhoni firstly whacked an unbeaten 44 off just 22 balls to power CSK to a challenging 179-run total. And then in the second innings, he showcased his incredible glove work, not once but twice.

In pursuit of 180 runs, Delhi exhibited the worst batting show of this season as they were bowled out for 99. Credit to Imran Tahir’s 4-wicket haul and Ravindra Jadeja’s 3-for that jolted the visitors. But, above all, Dhoni stole the show with those two stumpings.

The lightning bolt struck twice at Chidambaram:

The first incident happened during the 12th over when Jadeja turned the ball with a bit of a pace. It passed past the edge so quickly that Morris failed to land his back foot inside the crease on time and that's enough for Dhoni to whip the bails off in a flash.

One ball later, Shreyas Iyer lost his wicket in similar fashion while Dhoni excelled to provide two wickets in a single over to Ravindra Jadeja.

Earlier, DC won the toss and invited CSK to bat first. Raina (59) and  Faf du Plessis (39) added 83 runs for the second wicket to revive the innings after Delhi Capitals bowlers produced tight spells upfront.

Dhoni, who returned to the side after recovering from a bout of fever, and Ravindra Jadeja added some quick runs to provide a late flourish to the innings. He hit unbeaten 44 off 22 balls with four fours and three sixes while Jadeja smashed 25 off 10 with two sixes. He creamed off 20 runs from Kiwi pacer Trent Boult's final over, hitting two sixes and four.
