Pakistan cricketers and their skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed have been drawing non-stop flak following their disappointing performances on the field. The situation has worsened after the 3-0 loss to Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded T20I series as the nation’s media has also started grilling the captain brutally.

A local journalist on Monday awfully insulted Sarfaraz during the National T20 Cup press conference in Faisalabad. As the latter leads Sindh in the domestic T20 competition, he was questioned who would come to watch him play after his recent performances.

A video surfaced on social media where the journalist could be heard saying, “You’ve disappointed the cricket fans so much that they’ve started cursing you. Who will come to see you play in the National T20 Cup.”

Here’s the video:

While the Pakistan skipper chose not to answer the question, the reporter has been banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board from attending any event conducted by the board, claimed several Pakistan reports.

Despite all the heat he has been receiving, Sarfaraz began the domestic T20 tournament quite impressively. He scored 30 (18) in a winning cause against Central Punjab in a 189-run chase. In the next game against Balochistan, his 25-ball 36 went into vain as his side failed to chase down a mammoth 234-run target.

Pakistan will next visit Australia for a three-match T20I, starting from November 3. Thereafter, they are scheduled to play a two-match Test series which will mark the beginning of their ICC World Test Championship campaign.
