New Delhi: Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad collided with West Indian batsman Chadwick Walton and apparently suffered injury to his neck. However, Shehzad returned to field after being cleared by the doctors.
“Initially, [Shehzad] showed concussion signs and pain within the neck,” Shane Hayes, Pakistan’s physiotherapist, told ESPNcricinfo.
Walton’s knee collided with Shehzad’s neck when the Pakistani fielder was trying to save a single from Sohail Tanvir’s ball to Marlon Samuels.
Shehzad was conscious as he was lifted into the ambulance and was eventually deemed fit enough to come back into the contest.
