Wasim Akram slams Babar Azam for jersey gesture: Former Pakistan player Wasim Akram publicly slammed Pakistan captain Babar Azam for his public shirt swap with Virat Kohli after Pakistan's humiliating seven-wicket loss against India in match number 12 of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday (October 14). A video has gone viral on the internet in which Virat Kohli can be seen giving two Team India shirts to Babar Azam after Pakistan's defeat against ODI World Cup 2023 hosts.

Visuals of the jersey exchange between Kohli and Babar were run on TVs all over the globe. During an exclusive chat on A-Sports, Akram said that he didn't like Babar getting t-shirts from Kohli in front of cameras after Pakistan's defeat.

"That's what I exactly said when I saw the picture [getting the shirts publicly, not privately]," Akram said. "Today was not the day to do this. If you want to do it - (agar chache ke puttar ne keh diya hai ki t-shirt chahiye kohli ki) if your uncle's son has asked you to get Kohli's shirt - then do it after the game in the dressing room," he said.

After Pakistan's humiliating loss, Babar Azam admitted that the Men in Green were far from convincing in IND vs PAK match.

"We started well. Good partnership between me and Imam. We wanted to play normal cricket (me and Rizwan). Suddenly we had a collapse and didn't finish well. The way we started, wanted to target 280-290. With the new ball we are not upto the mark. The way Rohit is playing - he played an outstanding innings," Pakistan skipper Babar Azam said after IND vs PAK match.
