Washington Sundar provided India two quick wickets, one of which was of the well-set batter Rachin Ravindra, on the cusp of Tea on Day 1 of the ongoing India vs New Zealand 2nd Test in Pune on October 24 (Thursday). India were behind on Day 1 as Kiwi batter Rachin Ravindra was looking set for his second consecutive Test century against India and had put New Zealand in control before India's late breakthroughs.

With New Zealand on 197-3 in 59 overs, Washington Sundar produced a stunning delivery to knock off Rachin Ravindra's off stump with the very first ball of the 59th over.

Coming round the wicket, Washington drifted the ball in on off, landing it on a length with sharp turn. Ravindra leaned forward but couldn’t quite cover it, as the length of the ball squared him up in defence. Beaten on the outside edge, the ball clipped the off stump. The ball had around six and a half degrees of turn on the spin-friendly Pune pitch.

Washington Sundar carried on his excellent spell by bowling a beauty to dismiss New Zealand's wicketkeeper-batter Tom Blundell, right after taking Rachin Ravindra's wicket. Sundar flighted the ball outside off with plenty of spin, making it dip sharply on Blundell. Attempting to flick it to the leg side, Blundell was undone by the sharp turn, as the ball sneaked between bat and pad to knock over the stumps.
