India vs England 2nd Test match looks increasingly tilted in favor of India and a lot of the credit must be given to the Indian bowlers and especially Ravi Ashwin for picking up a 5-for in the first innings. India led by 249 runs in the second innings at the end of Day 2. This is a huge lead with nine wicket and three days still in hand. The batsman will try to consolidate more on the lead. Meanwhile, the champion bowler of Day 2, R Ashwin was in a press conference where he spoke about his performance and also about the fact that he surpassed Harbhajan Singh in the tally of wickets taken in India.


He went passed Harbhajan’s tally of 265 wickets on Indian soil. Ashwin now has 268 wickets in his name. while talking to the reporters, he said: “Lot of my teammates from that age, from that generation, you know, used to make fun of me, because I used to bowl like Bhajju Pa, my action, I used to try and bowl like him and all that. So, from there on to come one and actually break the record of something that he possesses, has to be incredibly special. I didn't know of it, now that I do know of it, I feel happy. Sorry, Bhajju Pa”



He had respect and admiration too, for the veteran spinner. He said, “When I was watching the 2001 series where Bhajju Pa (Harbhajan) was playing, I didn't even imagine that I would go out and become an off-spinner for the country.”


Former Indian captain Anil Kumble is leading in the tally of most wickets in India. He has 350 wickets on Indian soil.
