Despite the below-average performance in the ongoing World Cup, the Pakistani team frequently makes noise off the field, keeping their fans entertained. As per the latest development, former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis made headlines. Following Pakistan’s defeat to Australia, Waqar came together with Aaron Finch and Shane Watson for a post-match chat. The former Australian duo came together and were smiling but then after a while Waqar came up with a controversial comment saying, “I am a half-Aussie.”
After hearing this comment from Waqar, both the former Australian players were shocked. As per the information, Waqar is married to Pakistani-Australian doctor Faryal, and the family resides Down Under at Catle Hille in New South Wales. The duo are blessed with three children. Currently, the former Pakistani cricketer is in India as part of the broadcasters' team for the World Cup.
Waqar’s controversial remark was not received well by the majority of the Pakistani fans as one of the netizens commented by saying, “You are first Pakistani always remember that. Another one said, “While you may have got Australian citizenship Waqar Bhai, you are representing Pakistan in the broadcasting panel.”
Talking about the game between Australia and Pakistan, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Australia's opening duo of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh ended up adding 259 runs for the first wicket. Marsh departed for 121 while Warner went on to make 163. As a result, Australia scored a massive score of 367 and later bundled out Pakistan for just 305.
