The first Test match between West Indies and India in Dominica saw the Indian team hand debuts to two players. While Yashasvi Jaiswal got to play his maiden Test match for India, so did wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan. Jaiswal made the most out of his opprtunity with the bat as he scored a record-breaking hundred (171), Kishan also had a decent outing affecting a couple of dismissals and also coming back unbeaten during India's only innings in the match.
However, during one particular instance from the match, it seemed like the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was angry at Ishan Kishan. This was when Kishan had walked out to bat immediately after the dismissal of Virat Kohli. Perhaps the message to the wicketkeeper-batter was to accumulate as many as quickly as possible as the team was looking to declare. But Kishan had not scored a run off his first 19 balls it was then that Rohit made a furious gesture at Kishan after which he ran a single and almost on prompt Rohit declared the innings.

Explaining his gesture after the match, Rohit said that he wanted to get Kishan get to his personal landmark of having scored his first Test runs before he could call the batters back. "I was just letting them know that we have an over or so and then declaring. I just wanted Ishan to get off the mark. Because he played 20 balls without getting off the mark. Wanted him to get his first runs in Test cricket and then we'd declare," he said at the post-match presentation.
"But I understand, playing first Test can be nerves, he was waiting to bat all day yesterday too, so I wanted him to score one quickly before we declare," he added.
Rohit, who scored a hundred himself, said that every run one scores for the country is special and reckoned that it was their bowling in the first innings, getting the hosts out for 150, which set the game for the visitors. India won by an innings and 141 runs and will take on West Indies in the second Test starting July 20 at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad.
