Ahead of the Asia Cup 2023, the Indian team is preparing hard in the training camp which is going on in Bangalore. As per the latest news, senior Indian batter Virat Kohli took part in the yo-yo test and scored 17.2, proving that he is one of the fittest cricketers ever. While sharing his yo-yo result on Thursday, Kohli after raising his fitness level to 17.2, wrote on his Instagram story, “The happiness of finishing the yo-yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done”.


The former India skipper has not won a single ICC title in a decade and therefore the Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup hold a massive value to him. The Indian team already started gearing up for the upcoming tournaments as currently they are taking part in the preparatory camp in Bangalore. The Men in Blue will also be playing a few warm-up games to prepare for the competition.


The BCCI on Monday announced the squad for the Asia Cup 2023 where veteran players like KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shreyas Iyer found their spots in the team after a long injury hiatus. Young players like Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna were also added to the squad. All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been named Rohit’s deputy for the Asia Cup.


"Shreyas Iyer is fully fit. - KL Rahul is carrying a niggle, but is expected to be fully fit by the 2-3rd match of the Asia Cup, if not by the first game. Both had long-term injuries. That is why Sanju is travelling. Two important players for us," said Agarkar.


The 2023 edition of the Asia Cup is slated to take place on August 30, 2023, and the final match will be held on September 17, 2023. The premier tournament will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Four games of the Asia Cup will be taking place in Pakistan, while the remaining nine games will be held in Sri Lanka.
