Virat Kohli To Miss T20 WC 2024 Warm-Up Game?- Virat Kohli, star India batter, might miss the team’s only T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. He did not travel with the Indian team to the United States because he has reportedly extended his break from cricket post the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024, even though players like Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah have already departed for New York.

Along with Kohli, Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain, and Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya will also leave later than scheduled. Kohli, along with Rohit and several other stars, was expected to fly out from Mumbai on May 25 (Saturday) for the upcoming T20 World Cup, set to take place in the US and the Caribbean.

Kohli, Samson & Pandya Set To Join Indian Squad Late

As per a ‘The Indian Express’ report, Samson has informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that the reason for his delayed departure is due to personal work in Dubai and that the BCCI has approved the requests of Virat Kohli, Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya to delay their departures. A BCCI official told The Indian Express that Kohli informed them in advance about joining the team late, resulting in his visa appointment being scheduled for a later date. Kohli is expected to fly to New York early on May 30.

“Kohli had informed us way beforehand that he will be joining the team late and that is why the BCCI has kept his visa appointment for a later date. He is expected to fly out to New York in the early morning of May 30th. The BCCI has agreed to his request,” a BCCI is quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
