India skipper Virat Kohli congratulated seasoned English seamer James Anderson for becoming the first fast bowler to take 600 Test wickets on Wednesday.


The RCB skipper, who is in the United Arab Emirates for the impending season of the IPL – took to Twitter to hail the stupendous achievement of the English speedster. Kohli lauded the herculean milestone scaled by Anderson as ‘outstanding’, and congratulated the English pace spearhead by hailing him as one of the best bowlers he has ever faced.


Besides Kohli, the cricketing fraternity at large extended their greetings to the English seamer on attaining the milestone. Right from ICC to ECB, former and present international cricketers, all heaped praises on Anderson for his remarkable feat.


The England and Wales Cricket Board also congratulated James Anderson on scaling the 600-wicket milestone and posted a video on their twitter handle as a tribute to their champion bowler's stellar feats by way of showing some landmark wickets of his in Test cricket in nearly a two decade career for England. They captioned the video 'Our greatest ever bowler, @jimmy9'

Anderson joined the retired spin trio of Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble in the elite 600-wicket club in Test cricket.A veteran of 156 Test, Anderson happens to be the leading wicket taker among seamers in Test cricket and is also happens to be England's highest wicket taker in the red ball format by quite some distance.

Anderson has numerous bowling records to his name including the most five wicket hauls in Tests, most test wickets on home soil by an English bowler in Test cricket.
