A video has gone viral on social media showing batting superstar Virat Kohli speaking fluent Bengali while endorsing bat of Bangladesh cricketer Mehidy Hasan.

Following India's 2-0 Test series win over Bangladesh, Virat and Mehidy had a brief conversation. During their exchange, the star batter praised the bats produced by Mehidy's company and demonstrated his linguistic flair by speaking fluent Bengali.

Virat Kohli, in Bengali, said, "MKS bat, Khoob Bhalo Achchi" (MKS bat, it is very good)".

"Very good bat, keep doing the good work. You make very good-quality bats. Continue this work and provide cricketers with quality bats," Kohli said in the video.

Mehidy Hasan's meeting with Virat took place around the same time as his interaction with India's captain, Rohit Sharma, where he gifted the senior opener a bat from the same manufacturer that Kohli had praised during their chat.

"I've known Mehidy for a long time. He is a very good cricketer, and I am proud of him for starting his own bat company with some friends. I wish him all the best; may God grant him success. I hope this company rises above the rest," Rohit said.

India's win in the second Test against Bangladesh stands as one of the most memorable in country's Test cricket history. The triumph in Kanpur not only secured a 2-0 clean sweep but also saw several records being shattered.

Despite losing over two days to rain and a wet outfield, India showcased their dominance by defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets on the final day.

India and Bangladesh will next lock horns in a three-match T20I series, starting from October 6 in Gwalior. Veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli aren't part of the series as they announced retirement from the format after India's victory in T20 World Cup 2024.
