Star India batter Virat Kohli presented a signed Test jersey of himself to the retiring Dean Elgar after the hosts completed a historic seven-wicket win in the second and the final Test match of the series at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on Thursday (January 4). Elgar had already announced that the India Tests would be his final international assignment. After the visitors wrapped up the series inside two days, Kohli and Team India's gesture became a massive talking point on social media with several videos and images surfacing online.
Meanwhile, India captain Rohit Sharma said that he doesn't mind playing in challenging conditions like Cape Town as long as everyone else is ready for a challenge in Indian conditions. He also presented Elgar a jersey signed by all the players of the Indian team.
"I don't mind playing on pitches like this as long as everyone keeps their mouth shut in India and doesn’t complain about Indian pitches. You come here to challenge yourself. And when people come to India it is challenging as well," Rohit said India scripted their maiden win at this venue.
