Mumbai: Team India skipper Virat Kohli and her partner Anushka Sharma on Thursday donated an undisclosed sum for relief work in flood-hit areas of Bihar and Assam, and pledged their support for three organizations who have been working towards that. ALSO READ | Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic Blessed With A Baby Boy


In a heartfelt tweet, Virat wrote: " While our country is in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, people in Assam and Bihar are also suffering due to the devastating floods that have affected so many lives and livelihood. While we continue to pray for the people in Assam & Bihar, Virat and I have also pledged to help those in need by supporting these three organisations that have been doing credible work in flood relief & welfare. Virat and Anushka also named the three organisations with which they will be working - Rapid Response, Goonj and Action Aid and appealed to people to contribute and help in their efforts. In a separate message, actress and Virat's wife Anushka Sharma also sent her prayers for flood victims of Bihar and Assam.

Virat had earlier also donated 3 crore rupees to PM CARES fund for Covid response and has been actively involved in humanitarian aid also, through his charity foundation.
