New Delhi: India captain Virat Kohli reached a career-high third position in the ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen after producing a man of the match performance in the second Test against England.
Kohli guided India to victory against England in the third Test match at Mohali. India defeated England by 8 wickets to lead 5-match series 2-0
Virat has led the Indian team from the front and he has so far scored 405 runs in 3 Test matches against England with one hundred and two fifties to his name.
The Indian Test skipper stands on top in the T20 ranking and has also held top spot in one day internationals but he never managed to move above top 10 in Test cricket. The Delhi born cricketer’s consistency and sublime form has helped him move career best 3rd position in Test cricket.
The 28-year-old Delhi cricketer became first India captain to score two double tons in one calendar year. Virat scored his first double hundred against West Indies followed great batting effort against New Zealand on the home soil.
England’s wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow has also earned his career best ranking. Bairstow stands 9th on the list.
