A hamstring injury has ruled out all-rounder Vijay Shankar from the upcoming Quadrangular A Series involving India (A and B), South Africa A and Australia A, starting August 17.

The all-rounder is currently at the NCA, Bengaluru undergoing a rehab for his left hamstring injury.

The BCCI has decided against naming a replacement for the all-rounder. Shankar was a part of the India B squad.

"Vijay Shankar was part of the India B squad in the Quadrangular series. However, the Senior Selection Committee has reached a consensus that there won't be a replacement for Shankar in the India B squad," acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said.

The India B side bears a formidable look and the absence of Shankar should not affect them a great deal. With the likes of Manish Pandey, Mayaka Agarwal, Siddharth Kaul and Navdeep Saini in their squad, they have all the bases covered.

The Quadrangular series will be played at Mulapadu near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

Updated India B squad: Manish Pandey(c), Mayank Agarwal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Ricky Bhui, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Gopal, Jayant Yadav, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Siddarth Kaul, Prasidh Krishna, Kulwant Khejroliya, Navdeep Saini
