Jharkhand defeated Maharashtra by eight wickets in the semi-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in a rain-interrupted match. The result of the match played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium came through the VJD system, in which Jharkhand defeating Maharashtra won the match by eight wickets.
Batting first after losing the toss, Maharashtra scored 181 runs in 42.2 overs. During the match, rain interrupted the match twice. First time the rain interrupted, Jharkhand got the target of getting 174 runs in 47 overs.
However, after the second time the rain interfered. Jharkhand got the target of 127 runs in 34 overs, which was achieved by the team in 32.2 overs at the loss of two wickets.
Earlier, Rohit Motwani's 52-run half-century helped Maharashtra put 181 runs on board. Captain Rahul Tripathi's innings of 47 also played an important role.
For Jharkhand, Roy took three wickets for most, while Rahul Shukla got three successes. Apart from this, Varun Aaron took two wickets and Shahbaz Nadeem got one wicket.
After this, Jharkhand reached the semi-finals after getting the target of 127 runs from VZD system on the basis of good batting performance by Shasheem Sanjay Rathod’s unbeaten half-century and captain Ishan Kishan (28) and Saurabh Tiwary (29 not out).
