New Delhi: Defending champions Australia began their campaign on a resounding note, beating the West Indies by eight wickets.

Though, Southern Stars displayed impressive performance with the bowl to dismiss the Windies side for mere 240 runs but one incident will definitely hurt the Australia eves and it has already taken the entire cricketing fraternity by shock.

The incident took place in the 14th over of the Windies innings when batter Chedean nation hit the ball towards square leg and immediately called for 2 runs but the fielder did a quick job to throw the ball back to the wicket-keeper, who wasted no time and immediately dislodged the bails.

Replay showed that the batter failed to reach the crease when the bails were taken off but unfortunately with no presence of third umpire the decision was not referred and Windies received a life-line.

Nation was later dismissed on 39 but she was not given out on 2 because there are no television backups available for non-coverage games.

ICC has termed this event as extra-ordinary with worldwide live coverage of 10 games and Live streaming. That means only 10 games will feature TV umpires and decision can be referred.
