Cricket in India is no less than a religion for the citizens and the kind of love they possess is unparalleled. Once again the love was evident when India’s young batter Venkatesh Iyer was spotted playing cricket at the Veda Pathshala in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram. Iyer just could not resist playing the game with the students of Veda Pathshala and the video of the same has been posted on Instagram by the left-hander.

The 28-year-old batter who represents Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League is on a break after the conclusion of the cash-rich league. In the video, Iyer was donning a white dhoti and was spotted hitting big sixes and the kids were cheering for the KKR star. One by one all the kids bowled to him and Iyer smashed all of them for huge maximums.

“The love for the game is unbelievable. Had a great time with all the young Veda Pathshala students in Kanchipuram”, Venkatesh Iyer captioned the post.

Talking about his IPL 2023 performance, Iyer managed to score 404 runs in 14 appearances at a terrific strike rate of 145.85, including a brilliant century against Mumbai Indians. Post making a hundred, he became only the second batter from the KKR lot to register a hundred-plus score after Brendon McCullum. Despite his heroics with the bat, KKR failed to qualify for the Playoffs.
