Puducherry left-handed young spinner Sidak Singh made a historic performance in the Under-23 CK Nayudu Trophy tournament by picking up all 10 wickets against Manipur on Saturday. The 19-year-old player took 10 wickets in 31 balls, bowling 17.5 overs. He also bowled seven maiden overs.
Due to his lethal bowling in this match at Puducherry, Manipur's team was bundled up for just 71 runs. This Uttar Pradesh-born player has represented Mumbai in seven T20 matches earlier.
He represented Mumbai at the age of 15 after which he became the youngest player after Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar (14 years) to do so. His bowling action is much similar to former captain Bishan Singh Bedi’s bowling style.
This extraordinary spell by the youngster reminded of the time when Indian team's legendary spinner Anil Kumble took a total of 10 wickets in 1999 against Pakistan.
However, Puducherry's team also managed to score 105 runs in the first innings.
