It appears that getting off the field in mere 1.4 overs during the second Test between India vs West Indies is not just the end of the bittersweet debut for Shardul Thakur. Star bowler Umesh Yadav has been named as a replacement for Thakur in the Indian squad by the All-India Senior Selection Committee for the first two ODIs against West Indies.

Thakur suffered a right adductor tendon injury and has been ruled out of the Paytm ODI series.

Earlier when he suffered an injury, the rehabilitation program of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) came under the scanner as the groin injury which he sustained during the Asia Cup in Dubai troubled him once again.

The 26-year-old faced the blow after delivering the fourth ball of the fourth over which was guided past backward point by opener Kieran Powell. The speedster was then seen hobbling in pain.

Indian team for 1st & 2nd ODI against Windies: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Khaleel Ahmed, Umesh Yadav
