Ravindra Jadeja became a sensation overnight after his unbeaten 86-run knock which saved India from a severe collapse. His sword celebration followed by brave batting put the social media on fire. Fans and people from the cricket fraternity applauded his terrific performance. However, a tweet from the International Cricket Council (ICC) created an uproar at the same time.

After the completion of the Indian innings, ICC posted a tweet which said, “Sir Ravindra Jadeja take a bow! The all-rounder is shepherding the tail expertly, and is currently unbeaten on 86, having unfurled his trademark swashbuckling celebration on reaching 50.”

The fans were left amused to witness that the cricketing body called Jadeja “Sir”. The Twitterati came up with diverse reactions to this post. Some felt that Jadeja didn’t deserve such an address while some read it with a suspicion that the ICC’s account is run by some Indian.

The prefix that Jadeja has is a joke in India’s cricketing circles. Even former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni indulged in the joke in the past about his Chennai Super Kings mate Jadeja and the latter has taken it sportingly.
