Tendulkar Retirement Full Speech: The Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar played his last international match for India on this day, i.e., on 16 November 2013. The Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai was the venue that witnessed Sachin's 200th and final Test match.
India dominated play against West Indies and won the Test match on the third day, itself. Sachin scored 74 runs in his last innings, but what became an iconic moment was Sachin Tendulkar's post-match speech at the Wankhede Stadium. As Mohammed Shami picked the last Windies wicket and team India went back in the pavilion, the crowd at Wankhede was elated to see Tendulkar walk out and touch the pitch and pay his final respects as an India player.
Tendulkar was present with his family for the presentation. He thanked the fans in his speech and said, "The memories that you have given me will stay on forever and ever."
Tendulkar played 664 games, scored 34347 runs, hit 100 centuries, and broke many more records.
Sachin Tendulkar has stayed away from all formats of cricket ever since. He played in some charity matches and also lead India Legends to victory in a tournament organised in early 2021.
Tendulkar said that he carried a list to remember the people that he wants to thank in his speech. He thanks a lot of people from his family, to his teammates, and also some behind-the-scenes people like his manager and doctors.
Tendulkar said that the sound of 'Sachin Sachin' will forever reverberate in his ears. Even after nine years, Sachin Tendulkar's craze hasn't gone down one bit.
