IND Vs NZ T20I: New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson will miss out on action from the T20I series against India, starting November 17, to prioritise "preparing for the Test series starting on November 25 in Kanpur". The New Zealand Cricket announced this in a statement


Tim Southee will be the Kiwis skipper in Williamson's absence during the T20I series. The first match of the T20I series will be played on Wednesday in Jaipur. The next two matches will be played in Ranchi and Kolkata on Friday and Sunday respectively. 






Williamson will join the Test specialist group already training in Jaipur for the red-ball series preparation. 


"BLACKCAPS captain Kane Williamson will miss this week’s three-game T20 series against India as he prioritises preparing for the Test series starting on November 25 in Kanpur," the NZC Statement read.


The NZ team arrived in Jaipur from Dubai after their loss in the final of the T20 World Cup 2021 against Australia.


NZC also gave an injury update saying, "Lockie Ferguson’s recovery from a right calf-strain continues to progress well and he is expected to be available for the T20 series."
