An Australian Women’s cricket team garnered the limelight on Wednesday after getting bowled out for mere 10 runs in Alice Springs. Yes, it happened for real at the National Indigenous Cricket Championships where New South Wales bowlers crushed the South Australia women batting order.
But above all, the most stunning part of this episode— 10 of the 11 batswomen scored ducks while opener Febi Mansell was the top scorer with four runs to her name. The rest of the six runs came as extra runs conceded by the opponents.
Besides Mansell, it was Waniki Gibuma-Marr who managed to play more than three deliveries.
Roxsanne Van-Veen returned the unbelievable figures of five wickets for one run off two overs. Naomi Woods took two wickets with the only two balls she bowled.
In reply, New South Wales went through a few jolts as their opener was sent packing in the first delivery. South Australia managed to bag another wicket soon, however, the innings was over in just 62 deliveries and NSW ended the game in a total of 15 balls.
