T20 World Cup 2024: South Africa have created history in their group stage fixture against Sri Lanka at the T20 World Cup 2024, as the Proteas handed the Lankan Lions an unwanted record. Sri Lanka were bundled out for 77 and with that, they have now recorded their lowest ever score in Men's T20I's. This is also the lowest score of the tournament so far, beating the 109-run mark managed by both Namibia and Oman in the morning (as they both went into a super over after the draw).

Anrich Nortje was the architect of the demolition as he recorded a career-best figures of 4/7 in his 4 overs, as no Sri Lankan batter managed to score even 30 runs on a difficult surface of Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

Here's What 'Man Of The Match' Anrich Nortje Said In Post Match Presentation Ceremony

"Definitely. To get some momentum going. It's been a tough few days and we have been working really hard. Happy to get the win. Very happy. Like you said, you touched all the aspects there. Things didn't go my way in the last few games. But it was good today and things went my way. It was a tough wicket there and the guys did really well. Happy to pull it off for the team."

"We didn't know what to expect. We heard a couple of rumours that it will stay up and down. The boys started really well. They hit the straps and it allowed me to come and hit the straps and see what it is there in the wicket. It won't be the same throughout this game. So, we have to assess the conditions quickly going forward."

"I find it sometimes hard on these drop-in pitches because of where we land while bowling. I also find it hard on these squares. It is about adapting to the conditions quickly. It felt a bit off today but you have to assess the conditions quickly and try your best."
