T20 World Cup 2021: There is a big update about veteran Australian batsman Steve Smith and captain Aaron Finch playing in the T20 World Cup in limited over cricket. Both the great players, who have been off the field for some time due to injury, could be fit for the T20 World Cup that will be played in the UAE and Oman. Aaron Finch himself explained this in an interview. Let us tell you that Australia's team for the T20 World Cup can be announced by the end of this week. Australia will play their first match of the T20 World Cup against South Africa on October 23.

Steve Smith suffered an elbow injury in the opening matches of the IPL this year and has been away from the cricket field since then. However, he has now started batting in the nets at the Training Ground in New South Wales. While Finch, who is currently recovering after knee surgery, has also expressed hope of being fully fit before the T20 World Cup.

Smith's recovery process is going well

Aaron Finch explained, "Steve Smith's recovery process is going very well. He has been working slowly on his batting in the nets for the past two weeks. Keeping the injury in mind, he also needs to take care of the time limit during net practice. He is practicing with utmost care so that his elbow injuries do not reoccur again." He said, "The last time I spoke to Smith, he told me that he didn't feel any pain while batting which is a very positive thing. He is very important to us in the T20 World Cup."

Finch said this about his fitness

Finch also spoke about him being fully fit before the T20 World Cup. He said, "I am confident that I will be fully fit for the T20 World Cup. I have good experience in international cricket so I can easily play good cricket again. Lack of match practice won't make any difference to me." At the same time, he said, "My knee surgery has been extremely successful. I'm able to walk again without any pain, it's the most important thing on this stage."
