After the two-match test series against South Africa concluded in a draw, India are now preparing for a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, starting on January 11 at Mohali's IS Bindra Stadium. The Afghan team are intensively practising in the nets with the aim of making a substantial impact and presenting a challenge to the strong hosts. Rashid recently uploaded a video on Instagram, highlighting his training session, demonstrating his skills in both bowling and batting skills. What drew the attention of many was the heartwarming interaction on Instagram between Team India's explosive batter Suryakumar Yadav and Afghanistan's star leg spinner Rashid Khan.

Suryakumar Yadav, ranked as ICC's No. 1 T20I batter and Rashid Khan, the top-ranked T20I bowler, shared a heartwarming exchange on Rashid's Instagram post. Rashid's caption, "I've missed you," prompted Suryakumar to respond with, "And I will miss you." Rashid followed up with, "I’m coming to meet you."

Rashid Likely To Be Unavailable; Suryakumar Absent From T20I Series

Rashid, the regular T20I skipper for the Afghanistan team, won't be leading the side in the upcoming matches. Instead, 22-year-old Ibrahim Zadran will take on the captaincy role. While Rashid is part of the 19-member squad, his participation in the matches remains uncertain due to his recovery from lower back surgery. This surgery caused him to miss the T20I series against UAE. Zadran, who led the team in Rashid's absence previously, will continue to lead the team against India.

Suryakumar, who led India to a 4-1 victory against Australia at home and helped level the T20I series 1-1 in South Africa, is notably absent from India's T20I squad for the ongoing series. The 31-year-old sustained an ankle injury while fielding in the 3rd T20I against South Africa, a match where he notably scored a century to lead India to victory. Due to this injury, he was not available for selection in the T20I series. In his absence, Rohit Sharma has returned to captain India after a 14-month break from T20Is, while Virat Kohli is also part of India's 16-man squad for the series.

Along with Suryakumar Yadav, Rashid’s Indian Premier League (IPL) team Gujarat Titans also commented on his post. "So good to see you back in action, King," reads the comment.
