Team India's star batter Suryakumar Yadav missed out on playing IND vs AFG T20I series, sidelined due to an injury. Assigned the captaincy for the T20 series during India's South Africa tour, Suryakumar experienced a sports hernia, causing him to miss subsequent T20 engagements, including India's T20I series against Afghanistan. Following the injury, Suryakumar Yadav underwent a successful surgery in Munich, Germany, marking a crucial step in his recovery process.

Following his surgery, Suryakumar Yadav is set to enter the rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. While there hasn't been an official announcement regarding the exact timeline for his return to the field, reports suggest that Suryakumar Yadav could achieve full fitness before the commencement of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Fans can anticipate seeing Suryakumar in action during the IPL 2024 season, provided his recovery progresses as expected.

"Surgery done. I want to thank everyone for their concerns and well wishes for my health, and I am happy to tell you all that I will be back very soon," Surya posted on X (formerly Twitter).

As Team India concludes its last T20 series against Afghanistan before the upcoming T20 World Cup in June 2024, the squad is heading into the tournament with a positive note, having secured a 3-0 victory in the series.

As the world's number one batsman in T20 International cricket, the fitness of Suryakumar Yadav is of paramount importance, particularly with the upcoming significant events like IPL 2024 and T20 World Cup 2024.

With the focus now shifting to T20 World Cup 2024, the team's priority lies in ensuring the fitness of all players. Adequate preparation and player well-being will be crucial as India gears up for the challenges of the global ICC event, aiming to field a robust and fit squad.
