Suryakumar Yadav has been making headlines with his sensational batting for quite some time now. He is currently the top batter in the latest ICC T20I batting rankings. Surya has the ability to play shots all around the park and that makes him a special batter. The Mumbai-based batter showed great temperament in India's second T20I match against New Zealand in Lucknow. On a dangerous wicket, where other batters went to the pavilion early, Surya scored 26 not out off 31 balls and helped India win the game.

After one of the reporters asked Surya about his calm attitude, he indirectly mentioned the name of former India captain MS Dhoni.

"T20 series started in Ranchi so maybe that calm attitude came from there. But I guess a lot of domestic cricket which I played before making my international debut, that has helped me a lot. Because the grind that we have there, we play on challenging tracks and you have to apply yourselves, so whatever I have learned there I have carried it here. Rest whatever I have learned is by watching the senior players and talking to them about how they tackle various difficult situations," Surya said.

Talking about the match, the Indian spinners unleashed fire as the trio of Chahal, Sundar, and Kuldeep destroyed the New Zealand batting lineup. They restricted the Black Caps to just 99 runs. In reply to that, the Indian top order also collapsed with Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, and Rahul Tripathi getting out early.  It was the duo of Hardin and Suryakumar who built a crucial stand of 31 runs for the fifth wicket and helped India beat the visitors.
