IPL 2020: Remember the days when Anushka Sharma was blamed for Virat Kohli's poor performance? It happened a few years back when the duo was just dating and it is happening again! It was wrong at that time, it is wrong now! Commenting on a wife for a husband's poor performance has become a habit, first, it was social media who questioned the presence of Anushka Sharma on the stands while Virat Kohli was batting for the Indian team and now it is none other than the legendary commentator Sunil Gavaskar.

During the 6th IPL 2020 match played between Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore and KL Rahul's Kings XI Punjab Sunil Gavaskar on Friday found himself in the midst of a controversy for making an unsavoury comment against Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma after the Indian captain’s forgettable outing in the IPL.

The remark was in bad taste and did not go down well with the RCB skipper’s fans, with some of them urging the BCCI to remove Gavaskar from the commentary panel.

Anushka Sharma also reacted to Sunil Gavaskar's sexist comment and sharing an Instagram story the actress demanded an explanation from the veteran commentator for such 'distasteful comment'. Anushka fumed after being dragged into Virat Kohli's game and said that the accusing her of Virat Kohli's last night performance was wrong and Mr Gavaskar should have respected the private life of the cricketer.

Anushka Sharma's Instagram story

"It's 2020 and still things don't change for me. When will I stop getting dragged into cricket and stop being used to pass sweeping comments? I'm sure you can have many other words and sentences in your mind to use to comment on my husband's performance from last night or are your words only relevant if you use my name in the process?"
