England all-rounder Ben Stokes took to his social media account to slam English news daily The Sun for publishing an article conceding "extremely painful, sensitive and personal details" about his family, going back over 31 years. World Cup hero Stokes described the article as "utterly disgusting" and the "lowest form of journalism" from The Sun.

The Sun published an article with the headline, "STOKES' SECRET TRAGEDY " and it contains very sensitive details about Stokes' family's past  which he has never revealed in public. Stokes called the article immoral, contemptuous and heartless in the message he posted on social media.

Stokes posted a message on social media platform, according to which the news agency "sent a reporter to his parents' house in New Zealand to question them out of the blue on this incredibly upsetting topic".

Stokes' England teammate Joe Root took to Twitter to support the all-rounder and urged the fans to respect his decision.

An all-time great knock, one of the best in the Ashes history by England's World Cup hero Ben Stokes pulled England across the line in one of the most incredible Test comebacks to keep his country's Ashes hopes alive. The hero of Headingley, Stokes, scored an unbeaten 135 as England won the Third Ashes Test at Leeds by one wicket to level the scores at 1-1.
