New Delhi: Not even two weeks ago Australia and India were involved in an undeclared war - both on and off the field. Virat Kohli was pointing at his shoulder after the dismissal of Warner in reply to the mocking he received; Australian media were launching a no holds barred attack on Indian captain Kohli. None of them would actually foresee what was to follow in IPL.

What’s so special about IPL? In an IPL an Australian batsman stops on his strides mid way to pick up the shoe of an Indian bowler, which slipped out of the bowler’s leg and happily hands it back to him and then completes the run.

The Australian in question was none other than David Warner. The amazing display of fair play took place during Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Lions match at Hyderabad.

Gujarat Lions medium pacer Basil Thampi lost his footing on his follow through and his shoe slipped out. Non striker Warner saw this, quietly picked it up and kept on the lap of Thampi before setting off for a single.

The incident left the Sunrisers camp in splits but eluding the funny side, the incident portrayed the true spirit of IPL. It showcased the feisty nature of a generation which plays hard but doesn’t let that hardness create an unbreakable wall within.
