SA Vs SL, 2nd Test: South Africa have registered an impressive 109-run victory against Sri Lanka in the 2nd and final Test match at the St. George's Park in Gqeberha, and with the win, the Proteas have won the two-match Test series 2-0.
With the whitewash of Sri Lanka, the home side are now top of the table in the World Test Championship 2023-25 standings, and now have only two matches remaining in their cycle, a home Test series against Pakistan.
Temba Bavuma's excellent form guided South Africa to 358 on a tricky surface. In reply, Sri Lanka managed a healthy 328, but their bowlers let them down once again in the 3rd innings, as the home side propelled to yet another 300+ score, thereby, dragging the game away from the visitors.
Sri Lanka's top-order failed to deliver, and a 97-run partnership between Dhananjay de Silva and Kusal Mendis gave some hope, but Proteas' bowling attack proved to be too good, as Keshav Maharaj picked up a five-wicket haul to bowl the visitors out for 238.
