Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is considered as one of the finest cricketers to have played the game. On Monday, fans witnessed a crazy side of the former BCCI president. In a recent shooting for an advertisement, Ganguly was spotted promoting a biscuit brand.
He took to his Instagram handle and posted a video where he played the role of gold smuggler and was seen asking the henchwoman, "Mona, where is the gold?"
Soon after he shared the video, it went viral. Fans were left amazed after seeing this hilarious look of Dada. The Kolkata-based player served as the president of the BCCI and his tenure came to an end in October 2022. The 1983 World Cup-winning Indian speedster Roger Binny replaced him.
Talking about his records, after making his international debut in 1992, Ganguly amassed 11363 runs in 311 ODI matches. He has 22 centuries and 72 half-centuries in his kitty. Under his captaincy, the Indian team reached the final of the 2003 World Cup and concluded the tournament as a runner-up.
Ganguly has represented India in 113 Tests where he scored 7212 runs with the help of 1 double century, 16 centuries, and 35 half-centuries. He his often regarded as the God of Off Side because of an effortless strokeplay on the offside.
Earlier, the former India skipper was spotted playing cricket with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ranbir was there to promote his film "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar". The two went to the cricket field with Ganguly's team being named "Jhoothi XI" while Ranbir's side was called Makkaar XI. A lot of rumours were making rounds about Sourav Ganguly’s biopic where Ranbir Kapoor will play the iconic role of Ganguly. However, no official statement has been issued regarding the same.
