Sri Lanka will aim to give their best shot against West Indies to remain alive in the race for the semifinals when both the teams lock horns in their World Cup encounter, on Monday.

Sri Lanka, who are placed seventh on the points table with six points from seven matches, need to win their final two games, and hope for favourable outcomes in the England and Pakistan's next fixtures

The Jason Holder-led side, on the other hand, will look to finish on a high after being knocked out of the tournament.

TOSS UPDATE: West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sri Lanka. Roach is unwell, and Gabriel will replace him in the playing XI.

Holder, West Indies captain: We're fielding fuirset. A fresh wicket. It should be responsive first up with the ball. We still got pride to play for, and we need to play a perfect game. Bowlers have done well so far, and hopfully they can respond and the batsmen can chase it down.

Sri Lanka skipper Karunaratne said he wants the middle- and the top-order to fire in this match.

Karunaratne, Sri Lanka captain: We would have liked to bowl. In the last match, the pitch did respond with the new ball. We wanted to take early advantage with the new ball and take a couple of wickets early in the morning. We couldn't pass 250 and haven't really fird properly. Three changes for now (can't quite remember them all).
