A resurgent Sri Lankan team will lock horns against dejected South Africa in Match 35 of the ongoing ICC World Cup at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street today.


Sri Lanka who are placed in the bottom half of the table with six points would look for a win against South Africa to keep their semifinal hopes alive. Meanwhile South Africa, who are out of the race for qualifying for the knockouts

South Africa skipper Faf Du Plessis won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat first at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.

Faf: We gonna have a bowl Nas. it's fresh pitch and hoping to get some seam movement, looks a good pitch and doesn't spin too much in the second innings. Two changes for us

Karunaratne: We wanted to bat first, seems like a good track and we feel we can put a good score and defend that. One change for us, Suranga Lakmal comes in for Nuwan Pradeep. We just want to win this match and see how the next two games unfold.
