Colombo: India vs Sri Lanka ODI series begins on Sunday, 18 July. First time in the history of Indian cricket, two different squads are training for two different international events. As Shikhar Dhawan led ODI side will take the field on Sunday, a Virat Kohli-led Test side will take the field in Durham for a practice session.
Notably, two different coaches are appointed for both teams. Ravi Shastri with the Test team and Rahul Dravid with the ODI team. Naturally, the ways of these two gentlemen would differ. Shikhar Dhawan, while addressing a virtual press conference shed light on how the ways of these two coaches are different. His answer was like a politician's reply to the problems of the country, finely crafted and vary of any controversy.

"They (Shastri and Dravid) both have their own qualities and they both are very positive people. I have spent time with Ravi Bhai and their ways to motivate are different. Ravi Bhai's energy is a bit strong, whereas Rahul Bhai is very calm, composed and strong as well, so everyone has their own way and I enjoy playing under both of them," Dhawan said in the press conference as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Shastri's term as India coach is set to end at the end of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup. There are murmurs about Dravid replacing Shastri.
The Sri Lanka series is also important keeping in mind the T20 Cricket World Cup. Both the teams are expected to converge and the best of both teams are expected to be selected for the T20 World Cup.
"If Selectors or Ravi Bhai or Virat have some players in their mind for the T20 World Cup, we will mutually agree and play the player as this is the only series you have before the T20 World Cup," Dhawan said during the pc.
