Earlier, Australia scored a huge 480 runs in their first innings with the help of special knocks by Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green. The opening batter scored a huge 180 runs while Green scored his maiden Test century against India. In reply, India started well with Gill and Rohit stitching a 74-run partnership with Rohit Sharma. Soon after Rohit departed, Gill made a 113-run stand with Pujara who also contributed with a well made 42.

The Punjab-based batter went on to make his second Test century before getting out. Within just under three months, Gill proved his worth after getting six centuries (two tons in Tests, three centuries including a double ton in 50-overs format, and a ton in T20 Internationals) across formats.

On day 4, Virat Kohli is batting on the score of 76 with Srikar Bharat on 18. Fans are waiting for Kohli to make it big as he has not scored a century since 2019.
