While the Windies have cemented their innings in the ongoing 2nd Test against England in Antigua, speedster Alzarri Joseph received a massive emotional blow ahead of the third day’s play on Saturday. Her mother Sharon Joseph passed away this morning and Windies Cricket offered condolences to the young cricketer and his family for the loss.
A statement from the Cricket Windies invited spectators to in expressing solace to Alzarri and his family.
While there is no confirmation on Joseph’s involvement in the rest of the match, he was seen in the team huddle ahead of the play and then warmed up with his teammates. Joseph is yet to bat as the Windies have taken a healthy 85-run lead in the first innings in reply to England’s paltry 187.
Joseph has claimed five wickets at a cost of 18.60 apiece in the series so far.
