Virat Kohli is one of the most beloved cricketers in the world as he has a massive fan base across the globe. On the back of his terrific performances over the years, he has been a pillar of both the Indian cricket team and IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. As a result, Kohli has become a brand, and millions of people follow him on various social media platforms.

Recently a video of the 34-year-old batter went viral where he was spotted promising a fan. After the fan asked him for a selfie, since the former India batter was in a haste, he promised to click a selfie before he departs for Asia Cup 2023 on August 23.  The video went viral moments after it was posted.

The Indian team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma will be taking part in the  Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to begin on August 30. The Delhi-based batter is the spearhead of the Indian batting lineup and since the Asia Cup and World Cup are on the cards, all eyes will be on Kohli.

The high-octane World Cup will start on  October 5 with a clash between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since the 2013 Champions Trophy, team India has not won an ICC title and they will be looking to seal a trophy this time.

Earlier, Virat Kohli took to his X handle and said that the reports which claimed his earning from social media are 'not true'.  For the past few days, several media reports have surfaced on the internet, claiming that the modern-day batting legend earns INR 11.45 crore for every sponsored post he shares on Instagram. Apart from representing India in cricket at the highest level, Virat endorses multiple brands and has millions of followers on social media.

"While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true,” Kohli wrote on X.
